Pamona was the Ancient Greek goddess of the orchard. In this limestone carving she carries a basket of freshly harvested fruit to market. In ancient times, market day was also a time for socializing and exchanging news. To suit the festive occasion, Pamona wears a flattering dress and golden necklace. (2018)
